The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will begin Continous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from Wednesday, January 13 to Sunday, January 17, 2016.
The exercise, which will take place at all the sixty-two (62) Registration Centres/Wards and other approved locations across the FCT, is necessary ahead of the Council and Chairmanship Elections scheduled for Saturday, March 19, 2015.
The CVR will begin at the Registration Centre/Wards at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m on each of the five-day exercise. The last day for Claims and Objections shall be on Monday, January 18, 2016.
To be eligible for the CVR, a person must be a citizen of Nigeria who must have attained the age of 18 years, on or before the registration day.Those who are 18 years or above and could not register during the last registration exercise are also eligible among others.
After the CVR exercise, the Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV) shall be displayed for public scrutiny at designated Centres. Verification of registered voters will be done via website and SMS.
