electionTwelve ad hoc workers of the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) in Imo State are on the run.

It was alleged they carted away electoral materials during the April 11 Governorship election in the State.

The state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Gabriel Ada, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the re-run election coming up this Saturday, in 23 local government areas in the State.

According to him the police in the state are investigating their offences,warning that those found guilty at the end of the day would be charged to court.

He warned both INEC staff and their ad hoc workers to be mindful of Saturday’s supplementary elections in 250 polling units.

Dr. Ada gave the total number of votes expected in the 250 polling units as 148,407 while 113,803 persons collected their permanent voter cards (PVCs) in the 250 polling units.

The REC however disclosed that each of the polling units would be manned by 10 policemen to checkmate malpractices.
