High Court Nullifies Suspension Of Sen. Omo-agege

10 May 2018 National News News

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal high court sitting in Abuja  has nullified the suspension of senator Ovie Omo-agege representing Delta central senatorial District.

In a jugdement, the court held that the suspension of senator omo-agege for 90days by senator Bukola Saraki’s led senate is a violation of the 1999 constitution.

Justice Dimgba agreed that the senate has powers to discipline erring members but cannot suspend for more than 14days.

It could be recalled that senator omo-Agege was suspended for the comments he made on the aborted amendment of section 25 of the electoral act changing the sequence of elections in the country.
