St. Albert the Great Institute, Fayit, Kagoma, of Jama’a Local Government area in Kaduna State, came under attack on Monday, 11th October, 2021 at about 7:26 pm as gunmen invaded the Institute abducting three Seminarians of Christ the King Major Seminary domiciled in the institute.
In a circular released by the Curia of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, and signed by the Diocesan Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel OKOLO, the attack took place at the Chapel of the Seminary as the Semianrians were rounding up their evening prayers.
The Circular confirmed that six Seminarians who had various degrees of injury were escorted by Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) to Salem Hospital in Kafanchan and were treated and confirmed to be stable.
Three Seminarians were also missing after a headcount by the Institute on 12th October, 2021.
The three Seminarians are in their 4th year Theology belonging to two Congregations.
The Chancellor enjoins well wishers of the Seminary to pray with the diocese and desist from taking laws into their hands as every effort within legitimate means will be done to secure the release of the abducted Seminarians safely.
