Garki Indigenes Receive Allocation Letters To Apo Resettlement Site
About six hundred indigenes of the Garki Hausawa and Garki Gwari Villagers captured in the year 2005 for relocation compensation have started receiving their allocation letters to Apo Resettlement Site.
A Town Planner and an Assistant Director, Department of Resettlement and Compensation, FCDA, Mr Nasiru Suleiman made this known to newsmen while presenting letters to beneficiaries at the Chief of Garki Palace in Abuja.
Mr Suleiman who noted that the event is a continuous exercise, said various Community Heads were working with them to identify the people to ensure that the right persons received the allocation letters.
Mr Suleiman further explained that two plots were allocated to individuals who own houses , while a plot is given to those who had no structure on ground.
The Assistant Director on Resettlement also hinted that the beneficiaries were expected to take their allocations to the Abuja Geographical Information System, AGIS, for regularization at no cost.
Some beneficiaries, Mustapha Azago, Lazarus Nyaholo and Abubakar Ibrahim expressed gratitude to the Fct Minister, Malam Mohammad Musa Bello led Administration, for his commitment in trying to resolve the relocation problems once and for all.
The faces of beneficiaries were covered with a feeling of Joy and eagerness as they signed the land documents.
On his part, the Chief of Garki, Alhaji Usman Nga-Kupi encouraged stakeholders not to trade their land title documents; as this would be tantamount to trading their children’s future.
