The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nasarawa State Council has expressed concern over the lingering scarcity of fuel in the country and called on the federal government to provide palliative interventions to cushion the effects on the masses.
The State Chairman of the union, Comrade Dogo Shamah made the feelings of members known while speaking on the state of the nation at a meeting in Lafia.
Comrade Shamah noted that the persistent fuel scarcity has put the people especially journalists in a state of undue pressure in performing their legitimate duties.
He also stressed the need for deployment of more security personnel, especially to border communities around Nasarawa and Benue states.
Comrade Shamah enjoined journalists to be steadfast and ensure objectivity in their reportage as electioneering approaches.
