FRSC: Operation Scorpion II Impounds 800 Articulated Vehicles
The Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC has impounded 800 articulated vehicles and prosecuted 150 unlatched containers ladden offenders in the last 10 days of the commencement of operation Scorpion II (2).
Corps Marshal of FRSC Dr Boboye Oyeyemi stated this in Abuja during a meeting with zonal and sector commanding officers.
Dr Oyeyemi explained that the commission was working with state traffic regulatory agencies in Lagos, Ogun and Oyo as well as the Nigeria Port Authority, NPA to ensure that unlatched vehicles were not allowed to leave ports..
The Corps Marshal noted that adequate officers had been mobilised for night operations to check articulated vehicles drivers Who have adopted night journey to escape sanctions.
The FRSC Corps Marshal however appealed to the Commanding Officers to work with relevant stakeholders towards ensuring effective traffic management and total adherence to covid-19 protocols.
