Foundation Donates Second Batch Of 100 Hospital Beds To Unilorin Teaching Hospital
100 sets of hospital beds worth 52 million naira and drugs have been donated to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital by a private donor: Sir Emeka Offor Foundation.
At the official presentation of the materials, representative of the foundation, AIG Chris Ezieke said the donation was second phase of the gesture bestowed on UITH by the foundation, following feedback received from previous donation to the institution.
Prince Ezieke said the donation of the materials is aimed at complimenting government’s efforts in the health sector.
He explained that same gesture has been extended to Federal universities in the country including the university of Ilorin.
Prince Ezieke noted that the donation were for the comfort of the indigent patients of the hospital.
In his address, the Chief Medical Director, UITH, Prof Yusuf Dasilver, commended Sir Emeka Ofor Foundation for his kind gesture to the downtrodden patients of the institution and promise to use the facilities provided for its purpose.
He said the provision of beds to the hospital will go along way to assist the institution and the drugs will be used for patients that are critically in need of them.
In his remarks at the short event, Kwara State Commissioner for Health, Dr Raji Razaq commended the donor for the kind gesture, appealing to other good spirited individuals and organisations to emulate the foundation.
