FORMER HEADS OF STATE STRESS THE NEED FOR PEACE AFTER ELECTION

Two former Heads of State, Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, have stressed the need for Nigerians to be peaceful after the elections.
They spoke separately in Minna, the Niger state capital after casting their votes.
The two former Heads of State therefore expressed the hope that the electorate and politicians would accept the results of the elections however they might turn out.
Meanwhile reports from across Niger state indicated that there was a large turnout of electorate for the election in most of the polling centres, and even with the technical issues with the card readers that caused delays in the accreditation process, peace was the order of the day.
