FG Promise To Reward N36m To Scientist who Develops Lassa Fever/Covid-19 Vaccines

The Federal government has promised the sum of N36million to any Nigerian scientist who can develop vaccine to control Lassa fever and Coronavirus disease, COVID-19, affecting some parts of the world.

Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu stated this at the 2020 middle belt youth leaders unity summit in Jos.

He however explained that the ministry has received about four proposals from different scientists who believed to have what it takes to lead to the cure of covid 19.

Dr. Onu however said he is convinced that Nigeria has one of the most intelligent and vibrant youths who could find possible solutions to the different challenges in both health and economic sectors.

Earlier, the president of the Middle belt youth council, Mr Emmanuel Zopmal pledged the youth readiness youth to work for the greatness of the region and the country at large with the help of the ministry.

Mr Zopmal therefore called on the ministry of science and technology to operate an open door policy which could help create enough jobs that would help fight and defeat unemployment in the country.
