FEMA Pledges To Prioritise Care Of IDPs

The Federal Capital Territory Administration says it will give priority to the health of the vulnerables, especially the Internally Displaced Persons to prevent spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

The Director General, FCT Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Abbas Idriss stated this when a delegation of Medical Aid workers under the auspices of a Nonprofit Organisation, Binta Free Medical Outreach Africa, paid him a visit in Abuja.

Abbas Idriss, who is also The Chairman, FCT Palliative Committee On Covid-19; said FEMA would collaborate with the NGO so that the Internally Displaced Persons in the FCT could benefit from their Wealth of knowledge.

According to him, the FCT Administration is concerned about the health of vulnerable people and IDPs ,especially Women who lost their homes and sources of livelihoods to insurgency.

Speaking earlier, the President of the NGO, Hadjia Binta Faruk Jalingo said the group is delighted to assist the common Man that has no access to health care facilities, have access to medical care both in Nigeria and Africa at large

Binta Jalingo also said her NGO decided to support the effort of the Nigerian Government to educate communities on the proper usage of personal safety equipments to contain the spread of Corona virus pandemic .

The President who further sought for FEMA’s support in reaching out to the IDPs, said they would be visiting IDPs Camps in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Benue, Taraba and Zamfara.
