FCTA To Partner FRSC To Address Traffic Congestion At Lugbe
The Federal Capital Territory Administration FCTA, is to partner with the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, for strict enforcement of road safety laws in lugbe, Airport road axis of the Territory.
Minister of FCT, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello gave this indication when the new FRSC, Zone 7 Area Commander, Assistant Corp Marshal, Jonas Agwu paid him a working visit in Abuja.
Malam Bello stressed the need for the FRSC to deploy men and equipment to lugbe towards ensuring that the regular traffic congestion along Airport road is addressed, especially unauthorized trading under the pedestrian bridges.
Malam Bello who further pointed out that the laws establishing the FRSC were explicit, called on the FCT Sector Command of the FRSC to put the laws to good use.
According to the FCT Minister, the Airport Road which is the gateway into the City should at all times reflect orderliness, even as he promised the Administration’s readiness to support FRSC with the effective use of the Mobile Court system.
On his part, Assistant Corps Marshal Jonas Agwu pledged to build on the existing structures available in the FCT to enhance road safety and traffic management objectives of the FCTA.
He further assured that the creation of more designated bus stops and deployment of more high capacity buses would aid traffic flow in the city.
