FCT Perm Sec Assure Nigerians Of Topmost Protection After Shi’ites’ Protest

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has assured residents of a water – tight- security with a pledge to ensure that the loss of lives and property that occurred as a result of the Shiites protest do not repeat itself.
The Permanent Secretary, FCTA, Sir Christian Ohaa stated this in Abuja, when he led top management team on a condolence visits to the family of the deceased FCT Deputy Commissioner of Police, the Management of Channels Television and the FCT Police Command in Abuja.
Commiserating with the family of DCP, Usman Umar, the Permanent Secretary, FCTA, Sir Christian Ohaa described the situation as an unfortunate incident that must never repeat itself in the territory and Nigeria at Large.
“We are sadden by this because he is one of the finest officer the police have produced in this country. Your men should keep the flag flying because without police Nigeria is in dangers”.
He said all hands are on deck to stem that menace, even as he maintained those who broke the laws would face the consequences.
“This type of incident will not repeat itself , as I speak to you now, all hands are on desk and the government will prevent this incident. Both the security agencies and other relevant agencies will work together to ensure the safety of the law abiding citizens those who break the laws will face the full weight of the law… no more preaching, but day in day out , our people will make sure that this does not repeat itself again because the federal capital is housing Mr President, Senate, Chief Justice of the federation and all Diplomatic individuals in FCT”, Ohaa Stressed.
Ohaa however urged all residents to go about their normal businesses, noting that the security agencies are on top of the situation.
The Permanent Secretary also commiserated with the Management of Channel’s Television, Abuja over the death of a corps member, Precious Owolabi who died on duty as a result of Shiites protest.
He prayed God to give the family of Precious Owolabi the fortitude to bear the loss.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Bala Ciroma thanked the FCT Administration for the visit.
Ciroma said the visit re -ignited their hope, and pledged the readiness of his men to continue to discharge their duty diligently.
” we will take the hope to the officers. We will always do our best…We are going to up our games to protect FCT residents , We will work harder that residents are safe and secured,” he promised.
Also, the Controller of Programmes, Channels Television , Abuja,Mr Ambrose Okoh described the death of Precious Owolabi as a sad one to the station and Nigeria. He decried the fact that the young man’s hopes and expectations were shattered.
Mr okoh revealed that they have paid a visit to the CP to known whose bullet hit the young man so that justice will be done.
Words of prayers were offered for the departed souls in places visited.
