The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole has congratulated Muslim faithful in Kogi State and Nigeria on the celebration of Eid El Kabir.
The Speaker in a sallah message admonished them to use the occasion to pray for more wisdom, knowledge and understanding for the leadership of the nation.
He urged Muslim faithful to continue to pray for the peace, growth and development of the country and Kogi State in particular under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
Prince Kolawole said the time to be closer to God was now as a nation, noting that it had come to the point where every hand must be on deck for the development of the country irrespective of religious beliefs.
He charged politicians not to heat up the polity, rather they should play by the rules of the game as the nation moves closer to the general elections.
Meanwhile the Director General Government house Administration, kogi state, Alhaji shaibu Umar Orisha has urged Muslim to imbibe the spirit of oneness and Love for one another as exemplified by prophet Mohammed while on earth.
Alhaji Oricha made the remarks in a Sallah message to mark the Eld el Kabir in Lokoja.
He said the spirit of oneness would bring a positive change in the society, if imbibed by all adding that the country cannot developed where there was rancour and acrimony.
The Director General urged religious leaders to always preach peace any where they find themselves, nothing that the present administration under President Muhammadu Buhari would work hard to ensure that the country remains peaceful despite political differences in the country.
Alhaji Oricha Umar also called on the people to shun corrupt tendencies capable of breaching the existing peace in the country.
He urged the people to support the administration of Governor Yahaya bello to enable him deliver dividends of democracy in Kogi state.
