Eid El-Fitr: Nasarawa State Governor Urges Compliance, Fervent Prayers
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called on Nigerians to be committed to prayers for their leaders to ensure peace and economic development of the country.
Governor Abdullahi Sule made the call after performing Two Raka’at Prayers in his country home Gudi as part of this year’s EIDEL FITR Celebration.
“I empathise with the Muslim Ummah for the restrictions imposed on certain religious rites especially during the holy month of Ramadan, congregational prayers and other spiritual activities worthy of attracting rewards.”
“The restriction earlier imposed on religious activities was not to prevent our Muslim brothers and sisters from communing with Allah during the sacred month of Ramadan but to protect the lives of our people during this pandemic. “
“However, the ban on religious worship has been temporarily lifted for a period of two weeks in the first instance. I, therefore implore you to be guided by the guidelines issued,” the message read.
Governor Abdullahi Sule enjoined the Muslim Ummah to demonstrate lifestyles reflective of the purpose of the EIDEL FITR Celebration centred on brotherhood.
The Governor also noted that his administration would continue to prioritize programmes and policies that enhance welfare and economic status of people of the state.
Governor Abdullahi Sule added that the state government would do everything possible to ensure completion of all projects started by the previous administration to avoid wastages.
