A Federal lawmaker member Representing Doguwa, Tuduwada Federal Constituency of Kano state, Alhassan Doguwa has urged Nigerians to disregard the letter written by Former President Olusegun Obasanjo to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Addressing Journalists in Abuja, The Chief Whip and leader of the North west caucus of the House of Representatives enjoined Nigerians to continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari for the development of the country.
The lawmaker who described the letter as a distraction to the current administration commended president Muhammadu Buhari for the good works he was doing especially in the areas of security, fight against corruption and above all the economic restructuring of the county.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Tuesday released a ‘special press statement’ cautioning President Muhammadu Buhari against re-contesting for the 2019 general elections, among others.
In the statement titled “THE WAY OUT: A CLARION CALL FOR COALITION FOR NIGERIA MOVEMENT,” Obasanjo raised some issues of national importance.
He accused President Buhari of “nepotic deployment bordering on clannishness and inability to bring discipline to bear on errant members of his nepotic court,” with special reference to Mainagate
The Former President also urged Buhari to stop condoning corruption among some inner caucus of the Presidency.
“Culture of condonation and turning blind eye will cover up rather than clean up. And going to justice must be with clean hands,” he said.
