COVID-19: FG Lifts Ban On Places Of Worship, Hotels Sustains Ban On Inter-state Travels

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved opening of places of worship across the federation based on guidelines issued by the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 and protocols by the state government.

The PTF chairman, Mr Boss Mustapha who made this known in Abuja at the daily briefing of the PTF Monday that the President however sustains ban imposed on inter-state travels.

“President Buhari approved the recommendations presented to him by the PTF to be implemented over the next four weeks spanning June 2nd to 29th 2020.”

HIGHLIGHTS OF EXTENSION OF LOCK DOWN BY PTF ISSUED ON JUNE 1, 2020
i) These set of guidelines are for the next four weeks effective from 12 00 midnight today (1st June, 2020)
ii). nationwide curfew adjusted to now be effective from 10.00pm to 4.00am
iii). Govt offices can now open five days a week, Mondays to Fridays
iv). Artisans, auto mechanics can now operate their businesses
v). Hotels may re-open
vi). Restaurants to continue with take-away systems
vii). Parks, bars and gardens remain closed
viii). Schools are to remain closed
ix). Places of worship will be opened based on approved guidelines to be issued by the PTF
x). Residents are reminded to observe the established health protocols for the prevention of COVID-19 such as temperature checks, hand sanitizing protocols as well as the use of face masks in all the areas mentioned above.
