COVID-19: FCTA Reviews Market Operations From 2 To 3 Days A Week

The FCT Administration has reviewed its guidelines on market operations from two to three days in a week from 25th May 2020, in view of the gradual easing of the lockdown.

This was part of the outcome of the meeting chaired by The FCT Minister Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, on FCT COVID-19 Emergency Response Team and the FCT Security Committee, as part of efforts to curtail the spread of the coronavirus in the FCT.

With effect from Monday, May 25th, 2020, markets are allowed to open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8.00am to 3.00pm.

In addition to sale of foodstuffs, Agricultural inputs for farm activities, Building and construction materials,Electrical items specifically for construction as well as neighborhood selling points are equally allowed to open.

All new sections of the market to be reopened are advise to decontaminate their premises before commencement of business.

Market operators and customers are mandated to observe all already established protocols of hand washing, facial coverings and social distancing.
