The National Council of state has ruled the that the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari will receive handover notes from the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan on May 28.
Benue state governor, Gabriel Suswam revealed this to newsmen after the Council of State meeting at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, May 12.
The National Council of State also assured that Nigeria will not be challenged again by insurgents as experienced in the past three years as the Nigerian military has been equipped to take charge of its territory.
Meanwhile the meeting of the Nigeria Police Council was convened immediately after the National Council of State meeting, where Solomon Arase was confirmed as the substantive Inspector-General of Police.
The new IG, who spoke to reporters on his new status, said that his main task would be the welfare upgrade of officers of the Nigerian Police Force.
The Police Inspector-General also gave an assurance that he would bring crime rate to a lowest minimum through strategies and inputs expected of his men at this time.
