Commission For Disabled: PLWD’s’ Seek Full Implementation Of Programmes, Policies
People Living with Disabilities, PLWD’s in Nasarawa State have called for full implementation of programmes and policies of the newly established National Commission for Persons with Disabilities by President Muhammadu Buhari for their common good and the purpose it was intended for.
Spokesperson, All Prgressives Congress Disabled Persons Support Group in the state Mr Sale Barde made the call when he led a group of persons with disabilities on a solidarity visit to the Senator Representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District of the state, Tanko Almakura in Lafia.
Mr Sale Barde said the establishment of the commission was the best thing that would happen in the history of Nigeria as it would go a long way in upgrading the living condition of persons living with disabilities.
He stressed the need to ensure that provisions were made for full implementation of all the programmes contained in the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, especially education and welfare of people living with disabilities.
Senator Representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District, Tanko Almakura described the establishment of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities as a giant step aimed at inclusiveness, self esteem and adding value to the lives of persons living with disabilities.
Senator Tanko Almakura called on the Commission to work towards promoting talents and potentials of people living with disabilities for the over all development of the country.
