Clergy Advocates Creation Of Reconciliation Committee To Restore Peace In Plateau State

 The Catholic Arch Bishop of Jos, Most Rev Ignatius Ayau Kaigama has advocated for the creation of reconciliation committee to restore peace in plateau state.

Rev Kaigama stated this while briefing newsmen in Jos, the Plateau state capital.

He explained that the committee would dialogue with parties involved in the crises to proffer lasting solution.

The Catholic ArchBishop said Insurgency has caused numerous deaths, destruction of property and displacement of people in Plateau state and even across national borders.

He stated the archdiocese is partnering opinion leaders and non governmental organizations to come up with an initiative to manage the crises through dialogue and reconciliation

Bishop Kaigama therefore called on all aggrieved parties to collaborate with the government to end the crisis in the state.

He explained that he has built a dialogue, reconciliation and peace centre in kwang village where community leaders, traditional rulers, security agencies and stakeholders meet to discuss ways in bringing lasting peace in the state.
