Civil Servants Tasked On Efficient Service Delivery
The Chatered Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria wants Civil Servants to be more diligent and give professional advice to the Federal Government towards addressing the current economic challenges and early exit from the recession.
The Registrar of the Institute, Dr Akin Olufowose who made the call at the opening of the Institute annual conference in Abuja said the public service must be resolute in blocking financial loopholes and ensure successful implementation of Government programs for Economic growth.
Dr Olufowose however stressed the need for Government to invest in capacity building, address poor renumeration and provide condusive environment for Civil Servants to carry out their jobs professionally.
A former Head Economics Department, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile- Ife Osun State, Professor Joseph Fabayo appealed to public office holders to be patriotic, avoid corrupt practices and lead by example for the country to come out of its challenges.
Professor Fabayo emphasized the need for public office holders to imbibe integrity and always ensure efficient service delivery.
Over five thousand public servants from Federal,states and local governments across the country are attending the three days Conference.
