CBN Tennis Championship Finals: Defending Champion Takes On Former No 1

Nigeria No 1 female Tennis Player and the defending champion of the CBN annual Senior Open Tennis Championship, Adegoke Sarah has qualify to the finals

Sarah Defeated Nigeria No 4, Onobamhoin Patience6-3, 6-1 in the semi finals at the Tennis court, package B of the National Stadium, Abuja.

Also, former Nigeria No 1, Agugom Christie defeated current Nigeria No 2, Samuel Blessing 5-7,7-6,6-3 to qualify to the finals.

In the men singles semi-finals, Nigeria No 2 and the defending champion, Babalola beat Oparaoji Uche  6-1,6-3 to enter finals.

While Emmanuel Sylvester defeated his counterpart Enosoregbe Clifford 3-6,6-2,6-4 in a fist match to qualify.

Speaking to KFM Online Sports after the matches,  the defending champion female singles, Adegoke Sarah attributed her victory to being more focus and dedication.

CBN Tennis Championship: Nigeria No 1 Crashes out In Quater-Finals

‘I think i did better compare to my previous matches and am glad my game worked for me today.  Today i was more determine and more focus because my opponent is very strong and very challenging,  so i just had to be mentally ready for this match and i think this what worked for me’ she added.

 Emmanuel Slyvester who has played his opponent 6 times before winning the 7 one to qualify, said he feel so fulfil for coming this far in the tournament.

‘Am really happy with my victory.  My opponent and i have played  many times and this is actually my first time of winning him. So i feel so very happy today. Now my target is the finals. Playing Babalola is not going to easy. The guy is very strong and fit. We have played 2 times already he is beaten me. So tomorrow is going to be a different ball game’  he said.

 Tomorrow which is the last day of the tournament  will feature all finals.
