Car Theft: FRSC Advises Motorists On Proper Vehicle Registration
The federal road safety commission FRSC wants vehicle owners to engage relevant authorities in the registration of their vehicles for proper identification and tracking in case of theft.
FCT Sector Commander of FRSC Mr Gora Wobin who stated this while handling over a Sienna Car stolen four months ago in Gwagwalada and there after abandoned at Lugbe said FRSC was able to trace the owner due to the information available on its data base.
While reiterating FRSC’s resolve in checking incidences of car theft in the FCT, Mr Wobin appealed to the residents to always call the attention of people whenever there is suspicious movement around parked vehicle.
He also emphasised the need to engage the services of professional technicians in the installation of tracking devices in their vehicles.
Mr Wobin appealed to those who are still using old number plate to procure the new security designed number plate to enhance FRSC data base and provide necessary information to security operatives during emergency.
The owner of the vehicle Mr Ibrahim Tijani who appreciated the efforts of the FRSC said the car was stolen in his house last June with all efforts to retrieve the vehicle proved abortive.
He urged motorists to support FRSC and other security agencies toward bringing an end to car theft in the federal capital territory.
Officers of the Nigeria police force and other sister agencies witnessed the handing over of the stolen car to the owner.
