Worried that the reluctance of the government in the poor handling of security is causing more harm than good. Aware that if proactive measures are taking by the government where culprits are caught and disciplined crime in the society will have been stamped!
We call for calm in both communities and the government should step up security not only in these victim communities but the entire country to forestall future killings. CAN is disturbed that allegations of security complacency should be thoroughly investigated by the government to assuage already frayed nerves.
While assuring government of the church support, the church demand state protection to our members nation wide to stop the unchecked killings mixed in different reactions.
Aware of the repercussions of any reprisals, church leaders are advised to calm their members and ensure we report threats to security to the law enforcement agencies as soon as possible. We assure that the church will not keep quite but shall rise to the occasion. We warn we will not take it kindly again should this continue!
