Benue: Wont Worry Over Inconclusive Election – Ortom Tells INEC

Governor Samuel Ortom says he is not worried about the Governorship election in Benue State being declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Speaking with newsmen in Government House, Makurdi after the declaration by INEC, Governor Ortom said it was not the first time that an election would be declared inconclusive.

The Governor expressed the hope that he would win the supplementary election and be declared winner because he was already leading his closest rival with over eighty thousand votes.

Governor Ortom said the PDP was the party that on ground in Benue State as can be seen in the number of seats that the party has won at both the State and National Assembly elections.

He called on the people to remain calm and not to be discouraged to come out on the date that INEC would fix for the supplementary election to exercise their franchise.

Governor ortom urged security agencies and INEC to provide a level playing field for all political parties on the day of the supplementary election so that the process would be hitch free.
