Benue Govt To Immortalise Former Chief Of Staff Late Gen. Malu

The Benue Government is to immortalise the late Former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Victor Malu for his contributions to peace in Nigeria and parts of Africa.
Governor Samuel Ortom stated this during the burial ceremony of General Malu at his country home, Tse Adoor, Tongov, Katsina Ala Local Government Area.
The Governor who described General Malu as a great Nigerian that contributed to the growth of the country said even in death, he attracted electricity to his community.
Governor Ortom appealed to the army and other security agencies to promote peace which General Malu stood and fought for by preventing members of Miyatti Allah Cautal Hore from attacking the state to stop implementation of anti open grazing law.
On his part, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai said the late General Malu would be remembered for dedicating his life through out his service years to ensure peace in Nigeria and parts of Africa.
Also Speaking, Tor Tiv Professor James Ayatse, represented by Tor Sankera, Chief Abu Shuluwa urged the army to adequately compensate Benue State for the army invasion that saw the destruction of lives and property, including General Malu’s village.
Radio Nigeria correspondent Terna Injure ports that, other people who spoke at the burial ceremony include, Chairman Senate Committee on Defence, General Jeremiah Useni extolled the qualities of General Malu, saying he will be remembered for dedicating his life to serve the country.
