The Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU, Nsukka Zone has expressed concern over the continuous sack, humiliation and the use of students to threaten the life of its members in Kogi state university and intimidation of its members in Lagos state university. The Zonal Coordinator, Nsukka zone Professor Ukooh Ikoni stated this at a news briefing organised by the zone in Anyigba, Kogi state. He explained that the briefing was also to educate the public on how the university administrators and visitors to the Kogi and Lagos state universities were eroding the legacies and tenets of the educational system. Correspondent Alfa Yakubu reports that Prof. Ikoni called on the administrator and visitor to Lagos state university to immediately recall the chairperson and vice chairperson of the union whose appointment were allegedly terminated due to their stand against the ills perpetrated by the university. While calling for the dissolution of the councils and reconstitution of a new one, Professor Ikoni appealed to well meaning Nigerians to join the Union in the struggle to ensure standard education for the youths.
