Army Recovers Body Of Missing Major General

The Nigerian Army has recovered the body of the missing military officer Major General Idris Alkali in an abandoned well in Gushet,Shem district in Jos south LGA of Plateau state.

Speaking with journalists after the recovery, the Garrison Commander , 3 division Nigerian army Jos, Brigadier General Umar Muhammed said one of the suspects who was declared and had submitted himself to the police, led them to the well.

Brigadier General Muhammad alleged that some suspected youths killed the general and buried his body in a shallow grave at a place known as no Man’s land, but exhumed his body and dumped it in an abandoned well when his vehicle and belongings were discovered.

Thereafter, his body was wrapped in a body suit and after a brief military parade in his honour, the body was conveyed in an ambulance to the 3 division of the Nigerian army in Jos.

Brigadier General Muhammad stressed that the army will do everything possible to arrest those involved in the killing of the General.

Major General Idris Alkali was declared missing on the 3rd of September this year.

He was believed to be on his way to Bauchi from Jos when he lost contact around Dura Du area of Jos south LGA of Plateau state.
