Army Chief Advocates Synergy Between Relevant Organisations In Tackling Present Security Challenges
The Chief of Army staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai has stressed the need for the army to look inwards in tackling the present security challenges in the country.
He made the call in a message to a two-day seminar on research and development study in the Nigerian army held in Minna, Niger state.
Lieutenant General Buratai said implementation of good research findings could help solve security challenges confronting the nation.
The chief of Army staff who was represented by the Director of Research and Development of the Nigerian army, Brigadier General Joseph Ejeh advocated appropriate synergy between relevant organisations for optimal results.
He maintained that adequate funding was critical to the sustenance of its research objectives.
The Guest speaker, Professor Hussaaini Anthony of the Federal University of Technology Minna, pointed out that quality manpower development is key to improving research development in the country.
Professor Anthony called for adequate funding of research activities for enhanced security and national development.
The exercise which was put together by Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigerian Army, Minna, was to build the capacity of personnel towards enhancing Research and Development.
The event attracted participants from various security outfits and civil society organisations.
