The All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA in Nasarawa state has kicked against declaration by the state House of Assembly that the seat of the member representing Wamba Constituency Mr Mala Makpa is vacant for defecting from the All Progressives Congress APC
Chairman of APGA in the state Alhaji Musa Saidu made the position of the party known at a news briefing in Lafia.
Alhaji Saidu described the action of speaker of the State House of Assembly as unconstitutional and undemocratic as defection of the member was part of exercising his fundamental Human Rights of association.
The state APGA Chairman added that more aspirants have indicated interests to contest on the platform of the party in twenty nineteen general elections.
“We will scrutinize our candidates for consensus when possible, if not, the party will conduct primaries to elect flag bearers in all the constituencies.
“We will present our best candidates in all elections because we will contest against candidates of other political parties.
“We will present our best team with very clear vision and programmes that will reposition the state for the overall benefit of the people,” he added.
It would be recalled that the Nasarawa State House of Assembly had last week declared the seat of member representing Wamba Constituency Mala Makpa vacant for defecting from the the All Progressives Congress APC to the All Progressive Grant Alliance APGA.
