AMAC Commences Fumigation Of Parks, Markets In FCT
Abuja municipal area council (AMAC) has commenced fumigation exercise in the markets within its environs as a measure to curb the further spread of the coronavirus in the country
The Head of Information Department of the council, Mrs. Patience Olaloye, in an interview with Newsmen in Abuja said the exercise would go round the thirteenth markets in the council.
She said new directives would be announced on when to resume activities in markets.
Also speaking the Amac Head of environment unit , explained that the fumigation exercise was aimed at tackling coronavirus pandemic in the country.
He stressed that extra sensitization was carried out for the people in the markets before the commencement of the exercise
A representative of the the Utako Motor park, mallam Dahiru Mustapha commended the area council chairman and called for more actions to subdue the dreaded coronavirus in the country.
The markets expected to under go fumigation are Utako, Federal Housing Authority Lugbe, Relocation market Lugbe, Gwagwa, Nyanya, Aco mini, Jabi Park, Gwarinpa, Kugbo furniture, Kugbo spare part, Karshi, Karu, Apo fish market respectively.
All are expected to be closed until further directives are given for operation to begin.
