The Hopes of Nigeria’s sole representative at the CAF Confederation Cup, Enyinba international qualifying for the knockout round of competition suffered a big setback yesterday as Ahli Benghazi pipped the Nigeria club 1-0.
After match day 4, the People’s Elephants were well placed on the second spot in the group and hoping to get a good result against Benghazi.
Almoatassem Altaib netted the only goal of the game in the 40th minute and all the efforts of Enyimba to draw level proved abortive.
Meanwhile, Enyimba will be without two of their key players for the final match against Orlando Pirates of South Africa, Skipper Austin Oladapo receive a caution in the 36th minute which ruled him out automatically while Timothy Danladi was given a red card in the 74th minute.
Enyimba, now third in the group will play Pirates in a yet to be determined venue for the last group game.
