Action Aid Nigeria Identifies Corruption As Major Cause Of Poverty

The Country Director of Action Aid Nigeria, Mrs Ene Obi has identified corruption as a major cause of poverty in the country.
Mrs Obi stated this in Abuja when she led a team of Action Aid Nigeria members on a courtesy visit to the General Manager, Kapital FM, Mrs Mercy Njoku.
Many believed that, the United Nations sustainable development goals to end extreme poverty by the year 2020
in Nigeria would become a mirage if nothing urgent is done.
It is against this back drop that The Action Aid Nigeria is campaigning against poverty in Nigeria.
The Country Director Action Aid Nigeria called on relevant stakeholders to fight against the scourge in Nigeria as women and children are the most vulnerable.
She maintained that the organisation focuses its social intervention programmed on women, children and the physically challenged in the society.
While stressing that corruption was the major problem faced by Nigeria, the Action Aid Boss maintained that it has made poverty endemic in the country.
She however calls on the Federal Government to consider more women in appointive positions.
Responding, the General Manager Kapital FM, Mrs Mercy Njoku expressed readiness of station to partner the organization for the achievement of the set objectives.
The courtesy visit afforded The Action Aid Nigeria the opportune to present a technical report of the organization to the General Manager, Kapital FM.
