National Youth service Corps members posted to rural areas in Niger State have been told not to reject their postings.
The State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello made the call at the closing ceremony of the Batch C, Stream Two Orientation Course in Paiko.
The Governor said posting of Corp members to rural areas is inline with the objective of the scheme which is aimed at uniting the nation.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr Emmanuel Umar urged the Corp members to face the challenges facing the country with optimism by leaving positive impacts on their place of primary assignments.
He assured them that their welfare and security is guaranteed in the state.
The Governor enjoined those interested in agriculture to embrace the transformation of the sector by the state government to create wealth and boost food security.
Governor Abubakar Bello cautioned them against unauthorized journeys and emphasised the need for them to respect the culture of their host communities.
The NYSC Coordinator in Niger State, Mrs Funmilayo Ajayi said the scheme was taking deliberate steps to exposition it for greater performance and realization of its objectives
According to Mrs Ajayi, the NYSC is committed to ensuring that Nigerian youths acquire the spirit of self reliance by encouraging them to develop skills for self employment.
She told the Corp members that the service year would demand sacrifices from them.
