“Single is not a status. It is a word that describes a person who is strong enough to live and enjoy life without depending on others.”….C De Lima
In our society today, a lot of stigma surrounds single people,especially if they are women, some responsibilities at home work or even church (where there should be no discrimination) are reserved strictly for the married .consequently,single ladies usually feel depressed and desperate to settle down
Though being single is not easy,especially for women in this part of the world,there are a lot of positive things than can make this lifestyle more bearable and interesting and if you like more enjoyable for those who have found themselves in it for a time, yes for a time because it it not permanent.
Let us consider the following;
1. Being single gives you time to know and be yourself
This is the time to reconnect with yourself, a time where you can talk to yourself, discover yourself this is very important if you are to be successful later in married life
2. A Time to plan your future.
After you discover yourself, the next thing is to plan for the future,re-invent yourself if you like, when opportunity meets preparedness the result is success,
3. It’s only after you enjoy a healthy life as a single person that you can appreciate married life.
In my mothers words, it is only when you have tasted hunger that you truly appreciate a good meal.so by all means enjoy where you are at now
4. Develop yourself
Sometimes when people are in a relationship it makes them lazy or hinders them to pursue their dreams, this is the time to get that degree, start and grow that business, acquire a skill etc.
5. Being single does not have to mean being afraid to love.
maybe you are single because love had hurt you before, it does not have to remain that wayStaying open to love isn’t just about attracting a new relationship; it’s about being open to life.
As a single person,theres still alot to appreciate about life“Being single is not the end of the world,” a friend said to me. She continued by saying, “There are other problems that are more depressing than being single—hunger and homelessness, for instance.”
This is so true. even with a broken heart, I you are still standing.,still breathing. There are still so many possibilities for youand you’re not alone when you’re single; especially when you still have family and good friends.
When you’re single, it prompts you to look deep inside yourself and identify the person you really want to be—if you are single,stay positive and enjoy your life!
