2020 Prigrimage: FCT To Kick-start Screening For Intending Pilgrims

The FCT Director, Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. John Dabara-Audu says all is now set to tour Jordan during this year’s pilgrimage instead of Jerusalem which has been the historic land for many Christian pilgrims.

Mr. Dabara-Audu stated this on arrival from Jordan after a meeting with the Jordanian minister of Tourism and Antiquities, during an interview with Kapital FM in Abuja,

He explained that the change in destination was as a result of stringent regulations by the Israeli government due to the high rate of COVID-19 infections in that country.

“Since the 2019 pilgrimage, we have been working to see if we can make some pilgrimages to Israel, but it wasn’t possible following the COVID-19 pandemic that bedevilled the world.”

Mr. Dabara-Audu noted that the COVID-19 protocols laid down by Jordan were less rigorous than those of Israel.

β€œThe Jordan tour will be a divine encounter as it is the link between the new and old testament” he said.

He explained that the decision to explore Jordan was because God first manifested himself to man there.

Mr. Dabara-Audu explained that flag off of the 2020 and Easter pilgrimage would take place next month in Jos while this year’s exercise would be flagged off before the end of the year.

The FCT Director of CPWB who stressed that the board would soon kick start screening for intending pilgrims urged them to purchase, fill and submit their application forms for early preparations.
