2020 Pilgrimage: Imo State Governor To Head Governors Committee
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo has been appointed to head the governors committee for this year’s Christian Pilgrimage to Israel, Rome and Greece.
Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC, Rev. Yakubu Pam, announced this when Governor Uzodinma paid a visit to NCPC headquarters in Abuja.
Reverend Pam said the Imo governor would be expected to mobilize all his colleague governors to be actively involved in the forth coming pilgrimage to the holy land where a prayer session would be organised for the country.
He explained that programme “a day with Jesus” in Israel which will have the Deputy Senate President and the Vice President in attendance would be purely a prayer retreat to pray and seek Divine intervention to the challenges facing Nigeria
According to him, the governor will support the commission in terms of mobilising his colleague governors, politicians and businessmen in the country to realize Mr. Presidents ambition.
Responding, Governor Uzodinma thanked Reverend Yakubu Pam for the confidence reposed in him and assured that he would work with the business community and his colleague governors to mobilise enough people to the holy land for the special prayer for Nigeria.
According to him, Nigeria has surmounted so many challenges including terrorists attacks, kidnapping, banditry as well as the anti-SARS protests but is still united as a nation.
He urged youths not to allow themselves to be used by enemies to destabilise the country.
The governor pleaded with them to shun the ongoing protests and not to add to the challenges facing the country.
