A Special prayer session has been held in Bida, Niger state for the peaceful conduct of the twenty nineteen General Election.
The Prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Bida, Sheikh Adamu Yakatun.
In a message, Sheikh Yakatun explained that the prayer was necessary to ensure the success of the polls.
One of the Conveners, and chairman of the Joint Islamic Organizations in the state, Sheikh Mohammad Sanusi Erena pointed out that the move was aimed at promoting unity amongst Nigerians.
Sheikh Sanusi Erena advised the people to always pray for leaders and avoid inciting comments.
Two Islamic scholars Mallam Mohammad Sani and Khalifa Abdulllahi Idris Fogun stressed the need for the masses to participate actively in the electoral process to strengthen democracy.
The chairperson, Muslim society of Nigeria in Bida, Mallama Zainab Abdallah maintained that prayer was key to the success of the 2015 elections and called for it sustenance.
The session attracted Muslim faithful from eight Local Government Areas in Niger South Senatorial Zone.
