2019Elections: I’m not Under Pressure – INEC Boss

Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Professor Mahmood Yabuku says he is not under pressure in conducting Saturday’s presidential and national Assembly elections.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja, Professor Yakubu said the commission was working according to the Constitution and electoral guidelines for the conduct of the polls.

He said the commission would abide by the court rulings on Rivers and Zamfara states and would not postpone this election again.

He maintained that deployment of electoral materials would be completed on Thursday nationwide.

About 73 millions eligible voters are expected to exercise their franchise in this year’s election and Lagos state has the highest number of voters (5,531,389) followed by Kano state with(4,696,747).
